If you are a gamer, then this article will definitely prove to be interesting for you. We have received some interesting news about the release date of the PS5. At the same time, we have not forgotten about the E3 and we are ready to share with you all the details that we have discovered.
The chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden appeared on a podcast where he revealed a couple of things. The first one was a bad news for the PlayStation fans, as Layden confirmed the fact that PS5 won’t be revealed during E3, as there will be “no new hardware announcement”
In the podcast Layden announced that there are some exciting things on their way and they will be revealed during E3: “Of course, we’ll have stellar announcements from third-party publishers and independent developers, who are all busy devising innovative new experiences that will make your heart race and your emotions soar — whether you’re playing on PS4, PS4 Pro, or PS VR.”
Until now, it was hard to guess what Sony was planning when it comes to PlayStation. However, it appears that this year something special was prepared for us. This will be the first time we have a chance to take a look at a preview of what is about to come.
On June 11, from 6:00 pm Pacific Time we will get an early glimpse of what will come next for PlayStation. There will be a show at E3 2018, which will take place in Los Angeles, California. For those who cannot get there, PlayStation will broadcast the entire thing live on live.playstation.com, as well as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.
PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios will also show us a sneak peek of four of the upcoming titles: Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch, Marvel’s Spiderman from Insomniac Games, Death Stranding from Kojima Productions and The Last of Us Part II from Naughty Dog.
Unannounced PS4 game
While we already know that we will find out some interesting things about various PS4 games, it appears that it is also likely to get a new big title earlier than expected. This unannounced game might be released on the PlayStation soon enough.
The rumor appeared after a NeoGaf user spotted an unusual display when he went to a local GameStop a few days ago. The poster, Bryank75 observed that the store was advertising pre-orders for Gran Turismo 7. Grand Turismo Sport was the latest GT game, and it was launched back in October. Since then, we did not receive any information about other new game.
The user also added that promotional boxes revealed that Gran Turismo 7 would be released in April 2019. It also appears that there might be a special collector’s edition that will come with a real racing helmet that you can wear in real life.
Fortnite Battle Royale’s Twitch Prime Pack #2
We also have some news about Fornite. Fortnite Battle Royale’s Twitch Prime Pack #2 is now available for those who are Twitch subscribers. There are also some nice freebies included, such as the Tenderizer Pickaxe, the True North Back Bling, and the Traillblazer outfit. Players will also be able to pick the Battle Royale Freestyling’ Emote.
The original Twitch Prime Pack is no longer available for subscribers as it has been replaced by the first Twitch Prime Pack. If you are not sure how to access this content you should be able to find tutorials online.
Sony won’t look at the future anymore
Until now Sony E3 conferences used to offer us some details about what is coming up as well. However, it appears that this time Sony won’t go further than the existing AAA lineup. If we were to analyze this, it might reveal that first-party games are winding down because a new console generation is coming up.
In fact, if we analyze the dates for the upcoming games we can see that Spider-Man will come out this year, Days Gone will appear in 2019, and Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 2 and Death Stranding are supposed to cover the end of 2019.
This could be a sign that we will release a brand new console in 2020. If we were to believe experts and analysts, this is very believable. Digital Foundry also suggested 2020 as a possible release date for PlayStation 5.
The reason why we won’t see PS5 anytime soon is that PS4 continues to be very profitable. “Sony’s making so much money with the PS4 that I think they’ll continue to milk it as long as they can milk it,” explained Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter.
“I think the natural extension of that is the PS4 Pro becomes the default PS4, and they just knock that price down to $250 when they can and they keep selling it — a tonne of those. The PS5 is probably going to be their real 4K device, and so it just feels to me that they’re not going to launch the PS5 until sales momentum for the PS4 slows, and it just hasn’t.” he then added.
Therefore, is the sales for PS4 slow down in 2019, there is a chance that we will see a release in 2020. However, at this moment PS4 continues to be very popular on the market and Sony will probably try to take advantage of that.
