Project Fi Works Great on Most Phones

Google is all about ambitious projects these days. The company has accomplished more in 2017 alone than others have in their entire careers. But by far one of their most fascinating endeavors is Project Fi. So, what is Project Fi exactly? Well, when visiting the official website of the project, here is what greets us on the homepage: “Meet Project Fi, a wireless service from Google. All your calls, texts, and data on one simple plan.” This is pretty straightforward, but let us give you a few more details.

About Project Fi

Project Fi is basically a mobile data plan that offers you domestic calls and text, Internet access, and also the ability to add more people to your plan and share the costs together as a family, team or what have you. And it’s made for the Pixel, the Pixel XL, the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. That’s all fine and well, but Project Fi seems like a pretty innovative and interesting thing. Why shouldn’t everyone be able to have access to it?

Well, although Google doesn’t specify this on the official website for Project Fi (or anywhere else for that matter), you can access Project Fi from just about any device. But you will need one of the aforementioned four to activate it. Project Fi can only be activated from either a Pixel or a Nexus device (just the two mentioned there), so if you know someone who has one you can just borrow their and use it. Further on, Project Fi works on any device with a GSM connection.

So why doesn’t Google market Project Fi for everyone then? Well, for one, Project Fi is still at the beginning. There is a low of tweaking that needs to be done, and Google is known to keep it all in the family at first so as to properly test everything out.
