Many Android operating system fans and those who love their battery lasting a long time are owners of Pixel 2 and Pixel XL smartphones. In November, these two devices received a Google Pay update which affected the phones’ famous battery endurance.
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners take their complaints online
According to Pixel 2/XL owner, Google Play Services is the main suspect in their severe battery drain and other phones might be affected as well.
Users reported that the amount of battery drain depends on the device, some reported 30% drainage due to Google Play, while others around 90% in just a couple of hours.
The November Google Play update might be the culprit
Rumor has it that the November security path and the Wi-Fi used, the battery might drain faster than usual. A user proposes a temporary solution: clear Google play Services and disable the Wi-Fi. A reboot seems to help, but it is not a permanent solution.
Most Pixel 2 and Pixel XL owners hope that Google will fix this inconvenience past and release a new update for Play Services.
