Oppo, Realme and Vivo Become Part of the 5G Smartphones Launch Race

The world is witnessing the peak of 5G. Many smartphone companies are launching their latest models that support 5G. Oppo and Vivo might ace this race with their launches that are expected to take place sooner than previously expected. On the other hand, Realme will become the first brand to unveil a smartphone using Qualcomm’s new 5G integrated chipset with its X2 Pro.

Early Releases

Several smartphone companies are set to release their 5G models in early 2020. This is where Oppo and Vivo stand out. The two companies have decided to prepone their releases by a span of 2-3 months. So, now their 5G smartphones may enter the market by even the end of 2019. Honor and Realme are also expected to release their respective 5G smartphones around this time.

Realme’s 5G Integrated Qualcomm Chipset

During the RealmeX2 Pro launch in China, an event that took place two days back, the brand made a noteworthy announcement. Realme’s smartphones will be one of its kind with Qualcomm’s new 5G cohesive chipset. In the past, the manufacturer had given hints about designing a 5G integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series smartphone. The launch confirmed this news that Realme was indeed the first brand to use this 5G chipset.

Realme 5G Phone

Realme’s CEO, Madhav Seth had previously revealed that Qualcomm’s AI Engine and Qualcomm Elite Gaming features will be an integral part of its upcoming Snapdragon 700 series smartphones. The launch of RealmeX2 Pro is a crucial time for the company as it will make an outbreak in 4 more Western Europe countries. France, Italy, Spain and the UK will become a part of the company’s current presence that reaches out to more than 20 countries.

The well-known semiconductor company MediaTek will start the distribution of its 5G SoC in Q4 2019. Oppo and Vivo will not be using this 5G chip in their smartphones. It is expected that OPPO and Vivo along with Redmi, LG, Nokia and Motorola will use Qualcomm’s 5G integrated Snapdragon 600, 700 and 800 series. Oppo’s 5G presence in China is non-existent at the moment whereas Vivo already has two 5G smartphones in the country. The scenario for smartphone companies is expected to change for better in the future.
