Smartphones are pretty much the same on the outside which is why manufacturers are now focusing more on special, limited edition phones more than ever. The Oppo F11 Pro Avengers Endgame edition was a fantastic choice for big-time fans and even before the dust settles down, here comes another amazing phone for you to own.
The newly announced Oppo Reno Gundam Edition looks like an amazing entry into the world of Oppo phones. When it started, Oppo and Vivo phones got to a lukewarm beginning but they have grown up so much in terms of quality. Their phones are literally competing with flagship models of top brands and adding special editions further tightens the game for Google, Samsung among other brands.
The announcement of Gundam Edition was officially made on the Chinese equivalent of Facebook, Weibo, where Oppo Reno’s account confirmed that they have officially partnered with the creators of the popular series Gundam. Before they could officially launch the phone or reveal the designs, leaks have surfaced online. They give us a good idea of what to expect in terms of design.
The leaks have confirmed the primary wallpaper which will be used in the phone’s background and as expected it takes its inspiration from the Japanese anime that is all about robots fighting each other. The wallpaper also has a Chinese text written which we assume is possibly the name of the robot or something related to this popular series. As with all modern day phones, this particular product will have a punch hole display with the camera in the front but there will be no notch.
A big difference is that instead of keeping the camera to the left or the right side, the designers have managed to keep it in the center. It has led to a nearly bezel-less display and the phone’s overall finish is as stylish as it could get. There is no fingerprint sensor in the front and it could either be in the rear or Oppo might be adopting the in-display fingerprint scanner to make things more convenient.
Within a couple of months since the beginning of 2019, almost every other smartphone manufacturer on the planet has ditched the top notch and opted for the punch hole camera. They have also started incorporating the fingerprint sensor on the display. This edition will have Gundam wallpapers, sounds and artwork on the back to make it look authentic. It is expected to a premium mid-range phone in terms of pricing and hardware components.
