After competing with one another for superior camera setups and features, the race appears to be to provide a high level of screen refresh rate. Smartphones were content with 60Hz refresh rates for a fairly long duration. Taiwanese smartphone brand Asus was the first one to break away from the pack and launch the Asus ROG Phone with a display screen capable of a 90Hz refresh rate. This happened in 2018 but did not receive much attention in the market. It was the OnePlus 7 Pro with a 90Hz refresh rate that was highlighted in its advertisements for the handset. This has set off a trend of sorts in the industry with almost every new smartphone being launched adding this feature.
Simple Tweet on the Possibility of 120Hz in the OnePlus 8 Pro
The tweet that is under discussion has appeared on a Twitter handle @Samsung_News_. The person claims he is an industrial leaker on his Twitter profile. However, this cryptic message “Be a Pro” followed by the 120 appearing in bold is being interpreted as conveying that the OnePlus 8 Pro will sport a120Hz screen refresh rate. Max J. has said his tweet has nothing to do with the Samsung Galaxy S11. Elsewhere, there have been rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S11 being released with a screen refresh rate of 90Hz and by some as 120Hz. There are no confirmations on these rumors.

Other Specs of the OnePlus 8 Pro Leaked Earlier
There have been leaks previously on what the specifications of the OnePlus 8 Pro would be. It is expected that the phone will have a display of 6.65inches and will be fitted with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC as the processor. The RAM is predicted to be 12GB and the internal storage 128GB. The OS will be Android 10. The rumors say there will be the regular OnePlus 8 which will have a smaller 6.55-inch display while the rest of the specs may remain the same as the Pro version. Both models are expected to be 5G capable.
The focus, apart from the refresh rate, will be on the rear camera setup. This is likely to be a quad-camera setup. The speculation is rife about the resolution of the primary shooter in the pack. Having fitted a 48MP camera in the current flagships, the likelihood of a 64MP or even a 108MP sensor cannot be ruled out.
