There are rumors that OnePlus may be holding the launch event for its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 8 Pro sooner this year than in the previous years. A live photo of this device has now been posted online but this is only a closeup shot of the rear panel of the device. It can be seen that there are three sensors placed vertically below one another as in the OnePlus 7T Pro. There is however a fourth camera fixed on top to the left of the three vertical sensors. This may be the time of flight (ToF) already rumored as being part of this device’s specifications.
Further Details of the Camera Still Awaited
As of now, only the number of sensors can be confirmed and not their separate ratings. The primary sensor in the OnePlus 7T Pro is a 48MP shooter. Can we expect the Chinese phone maker to take it to 64MP this time? Similarly, the other two sensors are rumored to be 12MP and 20MP against 8MP and 16MP in the last released flagship. With this configuration and the ToF camera being added, the optics section in the OnePlus 8 Pro could be as effective as any top-flight smartphone model already in the market. It may allow the company to bump the primary sensor further to 108MP possibly when it launches the OnePlus 8T Pro later in the year.
Other Specs Rumored of the OnePlus 8 Pro
This leaked photo is a one-off and just shows the rear panel. There is no image of the front screen of the smartphone. The rumors so far indicate that the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a 6.65-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Soc with 8GB and 12GB RAM support. The corresponding internal storage levels are expected to be 128GB and 256GB with no support for a microSD card. These phones will be 5G ready with the Qualcomm X55 modem.
Android 10 OS with OxygenOS 10.0 user interface will be the operating system. Another rumor doing the rounds about this device is that the wireless charging facility will be provided in all the three models, the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8 Lite. This has lifted the spirits of those waiting for the ‘Lite’ model and save a few dollars and still enjoy this feature.
