OnePlus 8 and its Variants May Come with Wireless Charging

One of the features not seen in the smartphones of the OnePlus brand has been wireless charging. That may change if the latest rumors are to be believed. There is a lack of clarity on whether all three models of the OnePlus 8 series to be unveiled this year will have the facility or just the top-end model. These are just rumors, but those sharing these details may not be doing it out of thin air. They would have received some hints from reliable sources of their own.

Three OnePlus Models This Year

OnePlus has established a pattern, as most other manufacturers have done, which is to release the flagships around the same dates each year. If Apple has chosen September for its annual launch event and Samsung February or March, then it is usually the month of May that OnePlus releases its flagship devices each year. OnePlus 8 is due this year.

The Chinese company has also set the trend of releasing a model in May followed by a ‘T’ variant of the same model later in the year. This year it is expected that the May launch itself will see the launch of three phones, the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8 Lite. The first two will be automatic successors to the 2 devices of last year. The third ‘Lite’ model will be a new addition to the catalog. Having taken on the giants like Apple and Samsung in the marketplace with smartphones having comparable specs, OnePlus would want to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite this year.

The Leak on Wireless Charging

The leaks this time are from Max J. who has a Twitter handle, @Samsung_News_. There is just this expression “Charge like a pro” written on the tweet below an image where a smartphone is seen being wirelessly charged. Based on another tweet from the handle @OnLeaks, it is now being predicted that the OnePlus 8 series phones will have wireless charging support. As mentioned above, it is not certain yet if all three models or just one or two of them will be provided with this facility. There’s still a long way to go before their actual release and there will be more authentic information on this in the coming weeks.

Till there is no such confirmation, you will have to take this prediction as just speculation.
