OnePlus has released Open Beta updates for its Oxygen OS for their smartphones OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. There a number of performance-related improvements brought about in these updates. Users can start getting the update but the official update which can be expected to be more stable will come later. The version number of the update for the OnePlus 6 is 10 while for the OnePlus 6T it is version 2. Make a note of the procedure to be adopted in case you go in for the Beta version now and wish to download the official version later. These are OTA updates.
A plethora of Improvements Brought About
The changes incorporated in the Open Beta version of the Oxygen OS update for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T have been done in three areas; changes in the system, the phone and in the gallery app.
In the system, the brightness control of the display screen has been improved. On the unlocking of apps, the 4-digit PIN is sufficient and there will not be any need to tap the tick in addition for the function to be executed. Apart from these, certain other aspects have also been addressed in this update to fix any bugs reported earlier and to stabilize the phone’s system overall.
In Gallery, the Oxygen OS will now feature additional rags like creating a collection, moving the photos out and for copying the images in the gallery.
In the phone, the call history section has received improvements. For the Indian users, there is the caller identification feature newly seen.
Apart from these three, the OnePlus 6 and 6T phones’ launcher has also been given a facelift with some additional inputs available to them.
Beta Version Can be Downloaded from Forums
OnePlus has a forum where the users of different devices of the company share their opinions and it is not different from similar forums the other smartphone brands enjoy. But as indicated, the updates are sent by OTA and there is a caveat. If you have chosen to download the Beta version, you cannot receive the official OTA update whenever OnePlus chooses to release it. You will have to resort to a full installation with the active apps etc. gone. Read the direction carefully on the forum and take the right decision.
The OnePlus forum permits the users to report bugs, if any, in their phones too.
