OnePlus 5 might be adapting the dual-camera concept

The OnePlus 5 has been confirmed last week to be released sometime this summer. While the exact date is unknown, it is not the only information we have about this phone. On the contrary, there are quite a number of speculations regarding features surrounding OnePlus’s new device.

Several media platforms have had variously rendered images being shared around that illustrated the phone’s design. The images have been seen on Twitter, Weibo and Slashleaks, and all have some differences between them and are by no means accompanied by an official confirmation. However, all these pictures depict the OnePlus 5 with a rear-facing dual-camera. This would seem to follow the trend which other companies seem to implement in their latest releases.

Specifications

As far as the phone’s specs are concerned, we can expect it to have a Snapdragon 835 chipset designed by Qualcomm installed on it, and 6GB of RAM. This information has been seen on Oppomart, an unofficial retailer. However, information that is seen on Oppomart should be taken with a grain of salt as they are known to occasionally provide inaccurate specifications for devices. It could be possible that the OnePlus 5 will have 8GBs of ram as other sources have reported.

There have been some hints that the OnePlus 5 might be able to outperform the powerhouse Galaxy S8, according to tests performed on Geekbench. More specifically, the chipset could be able to do a better job on the OnePlus 5. This, again, is speculative information and should not be considered as 100% truthful.

OnePlus 5 is becoming one of the most famous phones in the mid-range category but is always being compared to higher-end phones thanks to its specs which are competing directly with the giants of the industry. Thanks to its budget-friendly nature, it will most likely become a favorite amongst smartphone enthusiasts.
