The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus hit the stores on Friday. But, there are some complaints already. Some of iPhone 8 Plus owners reported “static noise” problem during phone calls.
On Friday, two out of three new Apple’s flagship went on sale, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. And some people who purchased the iPhone 8 Plus reported a static noise problem during calls, MacRumors reports.
One of the MacRumors forum members, vask, posted about the problem on Friday.
“Is anyone else experiencing a crackling static noise from the earpiece during facetime or cellular calls? Strange thing is this noise happens randomly, roughly 1 in 3 calls. This is happening on iPhone 8 plus.”, vask wrote.
After that, a number of other iPhone 8 owners from the US, Australia and Europe said they are experiencing the same. The users complain about the crackling static noise during phone calls.
The issue pops up during cellular and FaceTime calls, but when headphones are used, or when the speakerphone is enabled, everything works just fine. This indicates the issue is not carrier-related, and it doesn’t seem like a hardware problem. It is most likely a software-related glitch.
Some users performed a hard reset on their devices, and a few were able to fix the problem. People from Apple support advised the new owners to restore the iPhone 8 Plus to factory settings and then set it up from scratch through iCloud backup. Same as with the hard reset, some people were able to fix the issue.
If you are experiencing the same problem, try the same, it may work for you. According to MacRumors, Apple is aware of this issue, and it’s working on it. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon.
Apple introduced several new products this month, and the iPhone 8 Plus is not the only one with a fault. The Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE has a glitch as well. It has difficulties connecting to LTE and when it connects, the battery drains really fast. Reviewers suggested that those who are interested in all new Apple Watch opt for the GPS model until the cellular connectivity becomes reliable.
