Nokia is on the verge of announcing the new Nokia X6 though it’s not official as yet. Nokia has just shared an official picture of the upcoming X6 on their Weibo account. The company also stated that further details would be offered on the 16th of May. Here are the top leaked specifications. The role of the upcoming Nokia X6 is to fill the gap between the two smartphones, namely the Nokia 6.1 and the Nokia 7 Plus.

According to the Nokia Weibo account, the company made use of its Pink Nokia N8 in order to offer teasers regarding the 27th April date. 27th April is the date when the Nokia N series had been announced, about 13 years ago in the year 2005. The teaser says that the Nokia N series was announced on that day 13 years ago. And on this day after thirteen years, it asks people to guess what would happen to the Xiaonuo in Sanlitun? The teaser has got all Nokia fans truly excited and hopeful of getting something powerful as well as meaningful on their hands with the upcoming Nokia X6.
HMD Global Event
HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia X6, is hosting an event at the Mercedes Me Square, which is located in Sanlitun in Beijing between the 27th of April and the 2nd of May. The event will last a week and several images have emerged from the event. As the days of the event progress, there will be new teasers, announcements, and updates. Nokia fans will be able to use this opportunity to view the new devices as well as the launched ones.
Clean, Sleek Device
According to the renders on Weibo, the Chinese social media, the Nokia X6 will be a clean and sleek device. However, the smartphone is a budget device and has basic specifications. It will be available in black and in white colors. The device will not be offering features for dust or water resistance.
There’s a notch on the front similar to the notch on the Apple iPhone X, with a chin at the bottom and the company logo in the right corner. The design is very similar to the Nokia 7 Plus. The rear design of the Nokia X6 is a little different with dual toned LED flash, which is located outside the dual cameras module. The Nokia X6 will be protected with a Gorilla Glass 3.
The sim is a hybrid dual sim, a nano sim, and a dual standby. It is a multi-touch smartphone using the GSM/HSPA and LTE network technology.
From the Weibo post, it can be inferred that the screen of the upcoming Nokia X6 will be 5.8 inches. It is a full HD+ screen display having a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio.
What the Renders Suggest
According to the renders on Weibo, there is a fingerprint sensor present on the rear of the Nokia X6. The dual cameras at the rear are placed vertically. There is a USB Type of C port and an audio jack of 3.5 mm as well.
It is likely that there are two variants with two different processors. One is the MediaTek Helio, P60, octa core, SoC, whereas the other is the Qualcomm, Snapdragon 636, Octa-core SoC.
There will be two variants as far as the RAM is concerned. One version is a 4 GB RAM with an internal storage of 64 GB, and the other is a 6 GB RAM with an internal storage of 128 GB. However, we do not know whether the memory can be expanded using a microSD card.
The CPU is an octa-core 1.8 GHz, Kryo 260 and the Octa-core 4.2 GHz, Cortex A73 and 4.2 GHz, Cortex A53. The GPU is an Adreno 509 and a Mali G72 MP3.
Camera / Battery Expectations
The camera on the Nokia X6 will be a Leica dual setup for the rear. However, there are no other details available as yet. It is expected that one of the rear cameras will be a 12 MP sensor having a Carl Zeiss lens. The second rear camera is likely to be a 13 MP one. The secondary camera in the front is rumored to be a 12 MP one.
The camera features include geotagging; touch focus and face detection, along with panorama and HDR features. It seems like the new Nokia X6 camera will offer settings for long exposure and will have an OIS that can capture thee images. It is surprising that Nokia is giving so much importance to imaging, as the Nokia X6 belongs to a mid-range segment.
As for the battery, it is expected to have a non-removable Lithium-ion battery powered at 3500 mAh, though there is no confirmation on this feature.
As far as connectivity is concerned, it will offer Bluetooth 5.0 and USB C along with a dual SIM capability, but no NFC.
The Nokia X6 will run on the Android 8.1 Oreo, according to the announcement made at the MWC. This means that Google will offer the Nokia X6 regular and timely updates.
Price and Release Date Information
Earlier, it was announced that Nokia will start the sales on the 27th of April after announcing the device. However, this was delayed.
The 4 GB RAM variant will be priced at around 1699 CNY / 208 Euros. As for the other 6 GB RAM variant, it will be priced at around 1899 CNY / 233 Euros. At present, the price of the Nokia 6.1 is 1499 CNY for the 4 GB RAM with 64 GB internal memory in China. The price of the Nokia 7 is around 2299 CNY for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory version.
The images leaked also show the date as May 16th seen on the phone display. This could mean that Nokia will be releasing the Nokia X6 on that date.
