Nokia Ozo, Camera for Virtual Reality

Back in July, Nokia announced a new product, that is a camera for virtual reality, named Ozo. It has a spherical shape with eight synchronised global shutter sensors which are 2K x 2K resolution per eye, and can capture stereoscopic 3D video. It also has a spacial audio through eight integrated microphones, along with live monitoring in real time through a VR headset.

Nokia Ozo can record 30 fps video and can hold out up to 45 minutes with internal lithium battery and a SSD 500GB inside.

The other interesting feature from Ozo is a live monitoring, that allows you to see a live record. The device that is addressed for movies industry has a pre-order price $60,000. They have announced this price officially through an event in Los Angeles. Virtual reality is a new technology that is predicted will become a trend next year as well as the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, PlayStation VR, and more. Nokia Ozo will compete with VR camera from GoPro. This is a new step from Nokia after they focused on network infrastructure field.
