Nikon 500 is a camera with a 20.9 MP CMOS sensor which combines the functionality and superior performances in an easily maneuverable body. It features the same latest generation AF system with 153 focus points and 99 cross-type sensors as Nikon D5, and the AF sensitivity with up to -4 EV (ISO 100, 20° C) assures optimum performance in low light conditions.
Nikon D500 offers support for 10 fps continuous shooting, in series up to 200 images NEF (14-bit compression) or large JPEG images. The EXPEED 5 image processor promises high-quality images in a wide variety of lighting conditions. The standard ISO sensibility in the range of 100-51200 is expandable ftom Lo1 (equivalent to ISO 50) up to Hi5 (ISO equivalent 1,64 million). D500 is the first DX-format camera that record 4K UHD resolution video sequences (3842 x 2160 pixels 30 p / 25 p / 24 p) with a length of up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds. The time controller which is built directly into the camera allows you to create time-lapse movies in 4K UHD quality. In full HD or HD, the electronic function to reduce vibration minimizes the effect of camera shake when shooting is done by hand, meanwhile, Active D-Lightning preserves details in bright and shade areas.
Among other features, we also count a 3.2-inch LCD screen with a hinged arm and equipped with a touch interface.
Nikon D500 is the first camera to incorporate the SnapBridge via Bluetooth low energy technology that allows a quick transfer of images from the camera to a smart device. This is done automatically, without having to activate the image transfer from the camera, all with a low power consumption for both devices.
“It’s a new visual world where we are connecting with others through images and photography enthusiasts who want more from their cameras. So, in Nikon D500, we concentrated the power of an FX format camera, to suit photographer’s appetite for high technology.” said Tadashi Nakayama, vice-president, Marketing Director and Imaging Business Unit, Nikon Corporation.
