Google Camera NX, an unofficial version of Google mobile for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P is here. The majority of Google Camera 5.1 features are added with the new version made for the Nexus smartphones. Motion Photos and some other tweaks were previously made unavailable for the two Nexus smartphones.
More on the app: “Charles_I”
The latest build for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P give users two options: they can run the custom version of the app for Motion Photos: the ZSL variant or the ZSL-enabled build which is pretty much identical to 5.0 one from Pixel and Pixel XL in 2016. The later includes experimental RAW support and alerts for dirty lens.
Those unable to enjoy the ZSL version can try the simple variant.
Face retouching option is also available
Those who enjoy taking selfies or just taking the extra mile to make sure they always look good in any picture are glad to use the Face Retouching option. Both apps use the feature and it is also available with the official 5.0version of Google Camera for the Nexus 5X and 6P.
The sad news is that the two Nexus smartphones will not receive the AR capabilities and the Portrait mode used in the Pixel line because the features need the technology implemented into its latest offerings.
Charles_I’s ports are a good option for Motion Photos because users can create short animations and enjoy getting creative.
Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P
The Nexus 5X debuted in September 2015 and it is one of the few smartphones able to connect with Project Fi.
Project Fi is a mobile virtual network operated by Google. It provides users phone, messaging and data services.
Nexus 6P was released for the first time in 2015 and it provides users a rear fingerprint reader named Nexus Imprint.
