Next Dual Sim iPhone Family Starting at Unbelievable Price of $550: End of Home Button and Touch ID

According to Ming Chi Kuo at KGI Securities, the Apple iPhone for this year will be a 6.1 inch LCD device with dual SIM technology; the best part is that it might be available at an unbelievably low price of $550.

Dual SIM Variants

It is predicted that Apple will not just be offering successors for its 3 most recent iPhone models. It will also be adding dual-SIM variants for this year’s iPhones. The 6.1 inches iPhone expected later on this year will also come in a dual-SIM variant, according to the KGI Securities analyst.

iPhone Successors

The other two-iPhone variants for 2018 are the 5.8 inches iPhone with OLED technology to succeed the iPhone X of 2017, along with another bigger variant, at 6.5 inches, which will probably be named the iPhone X Plus. Apple will probably be announcing these phones in the 2nd half of this year.

According to 9to5mac, it is also likely that the new iPhones for 2018 will all come with notches.

Expected Pricing

It was previously estimated that the upcoming iPhone would be priced at around $700 as the starting price. The next iPhone will also have two variants, a single SIM one and a dual SIM one, according to KGI Securities.

According to Ming Chi Kuo, the price of the single SIM variant would be somewhere around $550 to $650, whereas the dual-SIM variant would be around $650 to $750. The idea of bringing in a single SIM model would be to enhance Apple’s market in China.

As for the bigger 6.1 inches LCD iPhone, Apple will surely be able to sell around 100 million devices during the first year of its launch.

Exciting Year Ahead

According to, 2018 is likely to be a very exciting year for Apple, with the company planning to continue with its 3 lineup phones and introducing 3 others as well.

The 6.1 inches iPhone coming with an LCD display is likely to have a Full Active, LCD display. To top it, the technology on the new iPhone will be an improved one as compared to the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus display.

End of Home Button/Touch ID

This means that with the 2018 iPhones, there are no more Home Buttons. It also marks an end to the Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor in the iPhone lineup, the flagship smartphones from Apple.

According to the rumors, there are three iPhones expected for the year 2018. Two of them are OLED smartphones, whereas one of them is an LCD one. The two OLED phones will come with a screen size of 5.8 inches and 6.5 inches.

Lower Price/ Lower Features?

The LCD phone featuring a screen size of 6.1 inches will come with the lower price tag of around $550. However, some features might be cut, as the price is to be kept low. For instance, it is rumored that the frame will be aluminum one and not the stainless steel frame. It might also not have wireless charging features. In addition, the rear camera will not be a dual one but will be a single lens in all probability. As for the display of the lower priced LCD phone, it might not offer 3D Touch features as well. When it eliminates all these features, Apple will be able to sell the device for a lower price putting it on an equal footing with the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.

All the iPhones of 2018 will come with Face ID technology and will have an edge to edge display along with similar bezels as the iPhone X, that is, almost non-existent. The devices will be powered by A12 chipsets and will have a faster LTE.
