The Sims 5 as a Multi-Player Game: Yay or Nay?

Ever since the first version of the Sims came out in the year 2000, it has steadily become popular with gamers. Today, the game and its multiple versions have become so popular that they are discussed passionately among gaming enthusiasts and those who keep a close watch and write about the gaming circuit worldwide.

A large number of gamers across the globe find the prospect of creating characters and their own ‘families’ in this virtual game very exciting. It has been twenty years since the game released and one has experienced it in four different versions till now. So, is it finally time for gamers to witness a major update to the game?

The gamer community is awaiting the launch of the Sims 5 with bated breath and many are of the opinion that the launch of the new version should also bring in a lot of things that would make the game a lot more exciting and relevant. There is also a section of gamers that believes that making too many modifications to the game would make it lose its charm.

Will The Sims 5 Have a Multiplayer Setup?

One of the significant changes which gamers expect to see in the game is support for a multi-player setup. Since the game features many characters and multiple ‘members of a family’, many believe that the Sims would become a lot more interactive if it becomes a multi-player game. So, if it becomes a game that can be played by 5 different players, each player would be in charge of controlling a family member.

However, there are downsides of the game adopting a multi-player setup too. If you are compelled to play it with your friends or teammates, you will be able to play the game only when all of them are online. Even if one member is busy and cannot be online for some reason, you wouldn’t be able to play the game. When you play it as a single-player game, you don’t have to be dependent on somebody else.

On the other hand, a multi-player game could be more lively, engaging and interactive than a single-player game. Also, in a game like this, having a multi-player setup makes a lot of sense as it has always been about a player building his virtual family. When a player is trying to put together his perfect family, a lot of other characters are engaged in doing the same. If it becomes a multi-player game, you could interact with each other and the game would become a little more dynamic.
