The Grand Theft Auto 6 is several months (if not years) away from its launch but has not stopped fans from speculating and reacting to the numerous rumors floating around it.
What is the Latest GTA 6 Rumor?
One of the most widespread rumors about the upcoming game by Rockstar Games that it will give players the opportunity to explore Vice City again. Rockstar Games has not offered any confirmation on the location of the game or where the plot will be set in but there are many who are hopeful that like some of the earlier versions, GTA 6 too will be set in the very popular Vice City.
A recent report, which offered some information about when one could expect the game to be officially launched, also dropped some ideas on where Rockstar Games is planning to set the game in. The rumors around ‘Project America’ that surfaced in 2019 have been largely responsible for giving birth to all the theories about Vice City being the city in which Grand Theft Auto 6 will be based in. Now, somebody, who calls him a ‘Rockstar Games insider’, has claimed that the rumors about GTA 6 being set in Vice City are very much true.
Claims Made by ‘Rockstar Insider’
This particular piece of information has emerged from 4chan, an anonymous message board. The message was shared on the message board on March 29 and then, extensively discussed on platforms like Reddit and Imgur. The ‘Rockstar insider’ tried to add some weight to his statement by making a claim about being associated with Rockstar Games in a ‘coordinating capacity’. He did not back his claim with any proof of employment history or record of working with the company. He further claimed that the narrative of the GTA 6 game would cover multiple cities. The main location, however, will be Vice City.
According to him, while playing GTA 6 a player would get to move across “a total of 5 contiguous ‘cities’ across 5 states” including Liberty City. The original Project America post had stated that GTA 6 would be set in fictional locations designed by Rockstar Games and based on the geographical structure of the United States and Latin America.
The good news is that despite all these new additions, fans of GTA 5 would still get to explore Los Santos which featured in the last released version of the game. Since the map used in GTA 5 will be retained for the upcoming version, players will get to revisit many of the locations that were a part of this version.
