Apple to Organize Digital WWDC 2021 Event From June 7-11

Apple just gave confirmation about organizing the WWDC 2021 event in June, as it does every year. Because of the Covid-19 crisis, the event will be organized online instead of being held in live venues. According to an update on the Apple Developer website, the event will commence on June 7 and will last till June 11.

Like always, Apple has refrained from divulging details about the kind of content it will showcase during the event. Even if you observe the graphics closely, you will not get the slightest of a clue about the same.

According to Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing, “the WWDC events are a platform for the developers at Apple to get themselves updated about the latest technologies being developed by the different units of the company and interacting with Apple engineers. Prescott further added that they are working towards making this year’s event the biggest and the grandest WWDC ever.

The WWDC 2020 event was also organized online as the Cobid-19 situation was at its peak and most of the world was under a lockdown. A similar structure is said to be worked out for WWDC 2021. While some might be disappointed with the grand event being held online-only, there are some advantages attached to it. One had to buy tickets to attend the live event. The online event, on the other hand, can be witnessed for free.

Till 2019, one saw senior executives addressing the audience and giving them a brief about this all-important event. This time around, a pre-recorded video stream is expected to be the keynote address and mark the beginning of the event. One of the primary reasons why so many people look forward to this event is because it gives them a glimpse of the kind of products and technology one could expect the company to roll out in the near future.

The Covid-19 situation also pushed Apple towards making its various online platforms and apps a lot more active. Now, Apple uses these online services extensively to keep its users updated about the various developments happening at the company’s end. These services also come in handy while conveying inbound information to its large team of developers. Those who wish to participate in the WWDC event are also likely to be given access through these platforms.
