Microsoft Now Allows You to Use Multiple Apps on iPad With a Single, Unified App

The kind of software provided by Microsoft helps one do a lot of things on our system. Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Excel – these are names of some of the apps by Microsoft which one finds installed in almost every other laptop or computer system.

With time, these apps also started being made available for download on smartphones. These days, smartphones have become an all-purpose device like computer systems. Therefore, it has become all the more important for Microsoft to facilitate the usage of these apps on the users’ mobile devices. These apps became as popular on smartphones and tablets as they were on computer devices.

Those who used Microsoft Word on a regular basis ended up downloading it on their phone or tablet device. For media professionals and corporate executives, having Microsoft PowerPoint on their phones was a must. The ones who needed to use multiple apps by Microsoft downloaded each of them separately. While most people were fine with doing this, there were some who wished for all the Microsoft apps to be available under a single app.

Microsoft seems to have taken note of this feedback. Apple’s iPad now features Microsoft Office as one app. After installing this one app, users will have access to four apps from the Microsoft family – Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and One Note. To put it simply, it is a ‘unified app’ that offers users easy and complete access to four of the most popular applications from the app library of Microsoft.

However, this is not the first time Microsoft has taken such a step. In February 2020, shortly after the release of the current-generation iPhone, Microsoft had launched an iOS app that had the three most downloaded apps from Microsoft integrated together in one app. The three apps were Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Now, it has done the same app for the iPad.

In its recently published App Store listing, Microsoft officially declared that the Microsoft Office can now be accessed on iPad. According to Microsoft, Word, PowerPoint and Excel were now a part of a single “iPadOS-optimized app”.

If you are using an iPad, you can download the Microsoft Office free of cost. However, if you wish to use the collaboration or sharing features offered by Office 365, you need to have a subscription for that. Microsoft provides users with a wide variety of in-app subscriptions starting from $6.99 per month
