There is a lot of excitement about the upcoming OnePlus 9 series among the consumers. The last generation phones in this series proved to be extremely successful and that is one of the primary reasons why the next-generation phones are being looked forward to with a lot of interest. The media has played its part by putting out leaks and rumored information about the phones. The most recent news that has surfaced about the OnePlus 9 is its display.
According to a report published in PocketNow, the upcoming model will have a display screen that would be quite similar to the one you find in the OnePlus 8T. The model, which was launched in 2020, features a 6.55-inch flat display along with a punch hole that can be seen at the top left corner. It also points towards the fact that the OnePlus 9, instead of having a curved display screen like its predecessor the OnePlus 8, will feature a flat display screen.
These days, many smartphones feature a curved display screen. While many users have embraced it, there are quite a lot of people who are not in favor of it. In the recent past, a large number of consumers have expressed their vexation at smartphone manufacturers switching to a curved display with their devices. A while back, companies like Samsung sensed this and dropped the curved display and adopted a flat display for some of their models. OnePlus followed the same process for the OnePlus 8T and the soon-to-be-launched OnePlus 9 is expected to have a flat display too.
In November 2020, a concept render of the OnePlus 9 got leaked and indicated the possibility of the smartphone having a flat display. The leaked images showcased the fact that the phone will be having a flat display instead of a curved one. Those who prefer the curved display could opt for the OnePlus 9 Pro the renders of which confirm the fact that it features a curved screen.
The OnePlus 9’s display should feature an AMOLED panel and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone is expected to run on the powerful Snapdragon 888 processor. The phone reportedly offers 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. The phone’s render highlights the fact that it features a single front-facing camera and as many as three cameras at the rear end. Rumored information that was leaked a couple of days ago offered people a glimpse of the rear cameras in the upcoming model. According to this leaked information, none of the sensors on the device feature a periscope lens.
There has been no official news on the specifications of the battery on the OnePlus 9, among other details, but another leak has revealed that the smartphone will be compatible with both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. While no statement has been released by the company about the launch of this much-awaited device, the OnePlus 9 is expected to hit the stores sometime in March.
