What to Expect from iPhone 13 Series? Pro Model Cameras, Smaller Notch and More

Every year, Apple gears up to release a new series of iPhones. Rumors suggest that Apple will launch the iPhone 13 series sometime in September this year. As we are still in January, there is a long wait ahead for those who wish to buy or even have a look at the next-generation iPhones. However, this hasn’t stopped fans and tech experts from speculating about the new features and upgraded specifications that one should expect to feature in the new-generation iPhone series.

According to a recently published news report, the upcoming iPhone 13 series by Apple will have a restyled Face ID system that will enable the positioning of a smaller sized notch at the top of the screen. This particular piece of news has been published in DigiTimes, a Taiwanese industry publication, which is known for putting out accurate ‘rumored information’ about Apple sporadically. While their predictions turn out to be true on several occasions, there are times when it results in a miss.

Digitimes is known to have sources in Apple’s supply chain. From the same source, they have seemed to have dug out another important piece of information about the iPhone 13. As per their report, the iPhone 13 will boast an upgraded ultra-wide-angle lens. The lens will see an upgrade from 5P to 6P. The new design is expected to feature a flood illuminator, Rx, and Tx in the same camera module. The integration method is quite similar to the kind used to enable smaller notch sizes in a LiDAR scanner that is present in the back camera module.

Since this is the third time one has come across reports suggesting that the iPhone 13 will feature a thinner notch, one is tempted to believe that this might well just be true. A couple of days back, the Japanese website Mac Otakara published a report based on the information they gathered from their sources at Apple. The report stated the same thing which DigiTimes is reporting now. It must be remembered that back in October, last year, leaker ‘Ice Universe’ had claimed this too.

While the rumors have pointed towards a reduction in the width of the notch, there is a high chance of the height of the notch being reduced to make the modification less noticeable. How exactly do they finally implement a smaller notch will be known once the next-generation phone is out.
