A report published in the month of November last year pointed towards the possibility of Samsung postponing the launch of the next-generation Galaxy Flip to a further date. This move was reportedly a result of Samsung avoiding any chances of the new Galaxy Flip eating into the market of Galaxy S21 which also saw a launch recently. Earlier, there were reports about the device being called Z Flip2 but now, it has been learned that it will be called Galaxy Z Flip3.
Recently, a Twitter user, who goes by the handle @TheGalox_, has posted information about the alleged specs of the phone. The user has also claimed that the upcoming model will be priced at $1,499. If this, indeed, turns out to be the final price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, then it means the next-generation model will cost just $50 than its predecessor. That’s definitely a lot lesser than what trade pundits were estimating the cost of the phone to be.
Last I heard it was LTPO with adaptive refresh and 6.70"…

According to the leaked information, the foldable device will feature a UTG (ultra-thin glass) display, 5G connectivity, better resistance to water and dust, a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, a triple camera system, and slimmer bezels. The phone will have a Snapdragon 888 SoC. Usually, Z Flip models feature a 1.1-inch cover display. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is rumored to have a 1.8-inch cover display which is definitely a major upgrade.
The information put up by the Twitter user contradicts some of the other unverified information received about the phone. For instance, there were reports which stated that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 will be moderately priced and have 4G connectivity. As stated earlier, the next-generation phone is priced just $50 more than the last released but not exactly ‘moderately priced’. And, instead of 4G connectivity, you get 5G connectivity which, in turn, justifies the increase in price.
When you have a look at the tweet which contains the alleged information about the specs, you realize Samsung has definitely made a serious effort in ensuring that it has a better look and feel to it than the preceding models. Of course, one has to keep in mind that Samsung hasn’t made anything official yet. Once they do that, one will get to know how much of the information floating around is true.
While there is no confirmed date as yet, there are strong rumors about Samsung introducing this device in the market in the first half of 2021.
