Samsung was the first company in the world to launch a 5G smartphone in the market. With the launch of Galaxy A Quantum in South Korea, Samsung became the first smartphone manufacturing company to come out with a phone that supported 5G connectivity. This particular smartphone also came equipped with a quantum random number generation (QRNG) chipset.
The multinational conglomerate had made the first move in the 5G smartphone space and made it clear that it was aiming to come out with a variety of phones that would support 5G connectivity and boast of other newer technology as well.
Other companies followed suit. While the demand for 5G phones grew substantially, there was a need to make them more affordable and accessible. Samsung seems to have made the first move in this direction as well.
Last Friday, WinFuture released a few images of a phone and claimed that this device by Samsung, tentatively named Galaxy A32 5G, is the cheapest 5G smartphone launched by the company so far. The images gave a good idea about what one should expect from the device.
Reportedly, the phone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, teardrop notch, and a quad-camera setup. The 6.5-inch display screen looks alluring and the device also consists of a MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor. 15W fast charging and 4GB RAM are some of the other features of this phone.
Now, with Samsung making an official announcement about the smartphone, the buzz for the device in the market has increased significantly. Samsung has stated that the phone will be available in the market from February 12. The 64GB model will be available at a price of €279 and the 128GB model can be bought at €299. The device will be made available in three colors – violet, white and blue.
The low price point of the device makes it one of the most economical smartphones available in the market. It also helps in further cementing Samsung’s reputation as a company that seeks to offer products at varying price points. While it is affordable, it offers a plethora of premium services or features like a silken design, a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display, and a triple-camera system.
Some of the other prominent features of the phone include a 5,000mAh battery, 8GB of RAM, an Octa-Core processor, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and microSD card expansion. There are reports of the Galaxy A32 5G being distributed by AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States. In its announcement, Samsung has categorically stated that the phone will be widely available in German stores and on online platforms.
Apart from the economically priced Galaxy A32 5G, Samsung also has plans of launching a bunch of high-end phones that would cater to those who don’t mind spending a hefty amount on a good quality smartphone. While one has already heard about the upcoming Galaxy S21 series, there are a couple of other models that are expected to hit the stores later this year.
