Motorola has confirmed that its Moto X Pure Edition, X Play, X Style, Moto X (2nd gen), Moto G (3rd gen), Moto G (2nd gen), Moto MAXX and Droid Turbo will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Motorola is the first company that has made an official announcement regarding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and what devices are preparing to receive it.
All the other smartphone manufacturers are also preparing their devices for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but Motorola is the first one that announced the first devices that are about to get it soon enough. At the same time, we’re not sure if the Moto E will receive the update, as this device lacks internal memory space, which is needed to install the latest Android OS version.
However, Motorola didn’t reveal when they intend to bring the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the confirmed devices. The company also said that the new Android OS version will be released for these devices, the features such as Moto Migrate, Google Chrome Assistant and Moto Assist will be removed. We remind you that these three features are currently found on the Motorola devices.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will require at least 500MB in size. The new OS will come with an automatic backup, support for fingerprint scanning, Bluetooth 4.2 and LTE connectivity. According to BGR, the emergency calls will be improved on the new Android OS version, but also the API level 23 will be introduced.
