Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was quickly updated by the titan Samsung on numerous devices. These devices are: Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. In the meantime, those who are using Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are still on hold regarding the 5.1.1 Lollipop update. However, those who owned an unlocked Samsung gizmo received the update earlier than the rest.
Current Status for Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge
U.S Cellular, T-Mobile and Sprint came out with these updates OTA. This was for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge gizmos. But unfortunately AT&T and Verizon haven’t come out with the 5.1.1 Lollipop update. We do not have an official date for their release.
Current Status for Samsung Galaxy S5
T-Mobile is the sole carrier that has launched the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S5 device. For the rest of the carriers, things are still a blur as far as the latter device is concerned.
Leaving aside the rumors, officially the Galaxy Note 4 hasn’t been hit with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. When we refer to rumors, we are referring here to a report issued by SamMobile who stated that the latter update was being tested on the Galaxy Note 4 device. But, ever since that report was made public, no other official info has been unveiled. So, up until now further info regarding the Android 5.1.1 update remains ambiguous for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
The Galaxy Note Edge has not yet received the 5.1.1 Android lollipop update. Some state that the update will be up for grabs by the time August ends, however Samsung is keeping a pretty tight lid on this matter. So we advise all you Samsung devotees in the US to wait it out a little while longer.
According to TechRadar, Android M will have an official launch date in the month of September. For now the latter is accessible to developers only. Until then, sit tight and wait to see which sweet treat Google will name its Android firmware after.
