Say what you want about Cold, the hard rock outfit from Florida who had some success eight years ago with that song “Stupid Girl,” but at one time, they held some serious promise. I challenge you to find their 1998 self-titled debut, give that shit a spin, and then come back here and tell me you didn’t like it. That record was a strong showing and was one of my favorite rock records that year.

At one point, yes…I was way into Cold. But they sort of fell off of my radar because their sound started leaning too commercial and because they ended up splitting up for a spell there.

The band will stage a comeback this spring with the release of Superfiction, their fifth album, on June 28. The album allegedly features a cover of Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” which isn’t making me all that jazzed to give Cold a second chance.

Seriously, though…that first album was a strong effort and is really one of those albums you can listen to all the way through without getting bored. I shit you not. Check out the song below…it should get you interested to check out the debut.
