Alex McCord van Kempen, of The Real Housewives of New York City fame, will be in Philadelphia on Friday to promote the book she co-wrote with her husband.

McCord van Kempen and Simon van Kempen will appear at the Border’s bookstore in Center City to discuss Little Kids, Big City: Tales from a Real House in New York City.  According to the couples’ website:

“Writing with unique & humorous insight into the challenges facing city parents today, Alex and Simon use their own hard-won experience as a springboard to discuss a host of parenting topics, including baby s first six months, traveling with infants, hiring caregivers, disciplining, dealing with accidents, dining out, making the most of urban life, & scheduling time for non-urban escapes. A must for fans and parents!”

The flamboyant mother of two told the New York Daily News that she and her husband go out two nights per week.  And when she was pregnant, McCord van Kempen says she gave in to all cravings, even the alcohol-related kind, and went so far as to drink a glass of champagne on her way to the hospital before giving birth.

Check out McCord van Kempen and her husband at Borders, (1 S. Broad Street) at 12:30 pm on Friday, June 11 to see if this is the kind of advice they offer in their book.
