Did you know that this week is Noise for the Needy week in Seattle? Over 70 bands will join together to draw attention to Noise for the Needy, a local non profit organization that has been raising awareness in Seattle regarding the problem of homelessness for a total of 7 years now. All proceeds from ticket sales go to a great cause.

In 2010 Noise for the Needy is determined to make a huge impact as it spans 5 different days and 17 different venues throughout Ballard, Capitol Hill and Downtown. Some of this year’s highlights include heavy hitters such as John Vanderslice, Grand Hallway, The Album Leaf, The Kindness Kind, and Delta Spirit.

This year’s beneficiary is Teen Feed, an organization based in the U-District that hands out over 11,000 meals a year to needy youths under the age of 25. Ask yourself how often do you get an opportunity to attend a live show and help out the less fortunate at the same time. Ticketing information and the complete lineup can be found here.

Noise for the Needy kicks off Wednesday June 9th at Chop Suey with Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside, Peter Hanks, SilOHs and Soul Jelly. $8, 8pm 21+
