Huawei has been teasing us with the Mate 30 Series for a few months now. The promotional posters of Huawei Mate 30 Pro were released in late August 2019. The launch of the new flagship by Huawei will be in an event in Europe on 19th September 2019. Now, a few leaks have surfaced around the web with expected specifications, design and promotional material.

Specification Leaks for Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro

The first of the leaks comes from the Chinese blog ITHome which got hold of the promotional stand which are meant to be displayed at exhibition booths to show off the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. The stand has revealed some of the specifications of Mate 30 Pro.

Huawei Mate 30

According to this leak and some other sources, it is rumoured that the Mate 30 pro is going to have a quad camera setup with two 40 Megapixel primary cameras with an 8 Megapixel telephoto camera and a 3D depth sensing sensor for portrait mode. The cameras are also rumoured to have a whooping 7680 fps slow motion recording capabilities. For comparison, current flagship models like Samsung Note 10+ supports only 960 frames per second slow motion capability. However, the slow motion capabilities depend on the software inside the phone. It is also believed that some of these camera features will only be available in the Mate 30 Pro instead of the Mate 30.

In the processor department, the leaks suggest that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is going to sport a Kirin 990 processor which is the latest 7nm SoC by Kirin which supports 5G and has AI Capabilities. The Mate 30 Pro is also rumoured to have a 4500 mAh battery with up to 40 watts of fast charging capability. The software in the device is going to be the EMUI 10 which is based on the latest Android 10 by Google. However, there won’t be any Google services on the devices.

Four Colour Variants and Design Leaks

The next leaks come from Evan Blass or evleaks who has shared two different colour variants that the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro come in. The colour options to choose from are Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, Black, and Emerald Green.

Huawei Mate 30 launch

The Mate 30 phones are on the left and the Mate 30 Pro phones are on the right. From the images, we can differentiate between the models. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro seems to have a flat back due to the curved waterfall display which folds horizontally and gives an edge effect similar to earlier Samsung phones. Other than that, both of the phones look similar to each other design-wise. The main changes that we will see between the Huawei Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro will be in the specs.
