After Alcatel introduced the entry level hybrid Windows 10 device, Alcatel Plus 10, they recently announced their new flagships, IDOL 4 and IDOL 4S. As the previous version of IDOl, these new flagships still adopt a reversible design, which gives the same contour design between the front and back side. The new interesting features related to the reversibility design philosophy is, the handset can operate in both vertical and horizontal orientations. Alcatel IDOL 4 has a 5.2-inch screen size and FHD with IPS LTPS display technology while IDOL 4S has a 5.5-inch screen size and QHD AMOLED display.
In terms of performance, both are powered by Snapdragon 6 series: IDOL 4 runs on the Snapdragon 617, along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage; while IDOL 4S runs on Snapdragon 652 with 32Gb of internal storage. These devices support microSD card slot for extending the storage.
Its rear camera has 13 megapixels of resolution with touch focus, auto HDR and a faster auto-focus, only 0.1 – 0.3 seconds. For a selfie need, its 8 megapixels of front facing camera is provided with flash. Each device is equipped with dual 3.6W speakers, the cooperation between them and JBL. The speaker promises a superb experience and Hi-Fi surround-sound.
They haven’t announced the official prices and its availability. Are they going to give us a surprise with an affordable price?
