Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo is back again with the manufacturer’s launch plans for iPad Pro. He has been quite active the past week or two posting blogs on what he thinks the Cupertino tech giant may be up to. The company itself hardly releases any official information. The market looks to Kuo for these tidbits. In his latest blog, Kuo claims the first quarter of 2020 is going to be busy for Apple with the launch of a new iPad Pro as well as the iPhone SE2 on which he had already delved earlier.
iPad Pro with a ToF Camera?
The point in Ming-Chi Kuo’s blog that has raised eyebrows among observers is a prediction that the new iPad Pro which Apple proposes to launch next year will sport a Time of Flight or ToF camera in the rear. This camera will have augmented reality (AR) support. This is a departure from the tablet designs that Apple has adopted so far. Kuo claims there will be two sizes, 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants of the iPad Pro.
The other new thing that Kuo has spoken about is the ‘LCP Soft Board’. This is the main printed circuit board that is used in all electronic devices. These are usually made of a stiff board on which the components are soldered. Now, this new liquid crystal polymer or LCP board will give many options for the designer to accommodate more components in devices like modems. The 5G modem, for example, will be an additional component. Kuo claims that Apple may make these iPads LTE capable as well.
Kuo Certain about the Release of iPhone SE2
In his latest blog, Ming-Chi-Kuo has referred to the iPhone SE2 being released in the first quarter of 2020. The phone will come with an A13 chipset and 3GB RAM. These have been mentioned in his previous revelations as well.
Apart from these two, the other product that finds mention in Kuo’s writing is the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Here, the information is that the machine will have a new scissor mechanism in the keyboard. Kuo is predicting that Apple may make a complete switch to the scissor mechanism in keyboards from the butterfly type going ahead. The MacBook Pro may be the first product with this feature and there are chances of an announcement as early as this month itself.
