Mi Mix Alpha with 100 Percent Screen to Body Ratio Gears up for Release

Xiaomi was one of the first mobile phone manufacturers to introduce a high screen to body ratio phone back in 2017 with the Mi Mix smartphone. It had an 83.6 percent screen to body ratio. Now, three years later, it seems that they have finally achieved a hundred percent screen to body ratio which they were aiming for.

The Mi Mix 4 is being called Mi Mix Alpha by Xiaomi. It was recently teased by Xiaomi through posters on the company’s Weibo page. The phone will be officially unveiled in Xiaomi’s big event on 24th September. The next-generation Mi Mix will supposedly have a 100 percent screen to body ratio. The screen will also be a waterfall display like the Vivo Nex 3 which means that the screen will run down the corners on both sides like a waterfall. Xiaomi teased the new display by showing the phone stacked vertically with some books in a poster and the display was going all around the sides.

The phone will have 5G capability which will be enabled by the best Qualcomm processor in the market – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+. The camera setup on the phone will feature a 108 Megapixel camera which will be manufactured by Samsung, a telephoto lens for optical zoom and a wide-angle lens for wide-angle photos. The Mi Mix Alpha will mark the debut of the long-awaited 108 MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. The sensor is rumored to have a sensor size of 1/1.33″ which is even more significant than the Nokia Lumia 1020.

The waterfall display will be a curved AMOLED display with the 90-hertz refresh rate. This will be the first time that a 90 Hertz refresh rate display is being launched by Xiaomi. To power the big waterfall display, the device will have a 4,500 mAh battery.

Along with the Mi Mix Alpha, Xiaomi is also going to release the Mi 9 Pro 5G and an 8K Mi TV as well at the 24th September event. The next version of MIUI, the MIUI 11 will also be unveiled at the event. The Mi 9 Pro, which is going to be released with the Mi Mix Alpha, will have fast 30 Watt wireless charging and, 40 Watt wired charging support so there are possibilities that the Mi Mix Alpha will get these features as well.
