Xiaomi recently announced the Mi Mix Alpha smartphone with a staggering 180.6 % screen to body ratio, thanks to its innovative surround waterfall display. However, the smartphone was not affordable by most Xiaomi fans as the futuristic smartphone by the manufacturer had a staggering price tag. This led to fans hoping for a relatively affordable Mi Mix 4 to be released alongside the Mi Mix Alpha.
However, Xiaomi’s brand promotion manager Edward Bishop stated in a Weibo post that there isn’t going to be a Mi Mix 4 smartphone launch alongside the Mi Mix Alpha. He later took back his statement and told the fans that he can neither deny nor confirm that there will be a Mi Mix 4 being launched this year.
The Rumored Mi Mix 4 Smartphone
The Xiaomi executive taking back his statement has given fans hope that there will be a relatively affordable Mi Mix smartphone release this year. The Mi Mix 4 is rumored to have the same 108MP camera as the Mi Mix Alpha. The 108MP camera is being manufactured by Samsung using the Bright HMX ISOCELL technology. It is the first smartphone with 1/1.33-inch sensor size. The bigger sensor size allows the HMX to capture more light in low light environments to provide a good image quality.
If there isn’t an affordable Mi Mix smartphone launch this year, many Xiaomi fans will have to wait for the next iteration of Mi Mix to be able to buy the current model with slashed prices. Currently, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is priced 19,999 Yuan or $2,807.
