Mi CC9 Pro to be Launched by Xiaomi on November 5 along with Mi TV5 and Mi Watch

Xiaomi has fixed November 5 as the date for the launch of a new smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. This is expected to be a China-only launch and the company may announce on that day when the handset will be available in the other markets. This is no speculation but an official communication by the company on the Chinese social media site Weibo. Besides the Mi CC9 Pro, two other devices are expected to be announced at the event; one is the Mi TV5 and the other Xiaomi’s smartwatch Mi Watch.

Powerful Camera Setup with 108MP Primary Shooter

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is apparently not being positioned by the company as a flagship device. The full set of specifications and features are yet to be officially shared by Xiaomi. However, based on whatever information is available, the processor is said to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC. That would place this smartphone in the middle segment.

However, the camera section may turn out to be the highlight with the rear camera setup having five sensors led by a 108MP primary shooter. While the full details of this penta-camera setup are not available, two more sensors, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens find mention. In the official poster released by Xiaomi, there is a photograph included presumably clicked with the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro and 0.8% partial enlargement. There is no confirmation on the front camera either but the speculation is it is likely to be 32MP.  The company’s two earlier models in the series, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and CC9e have 32MP front selfie cameras. That has prompted the suggestion that it won’t be very different on the Mi CC9 Pro as well. The camera in the rear will have the 5X optical zoom feature, a first from Xiaomi.

On other details, the phone is predicted to give 8GB RAM and 256GB storage while the OS is likely to be Android 10 with the MIUI 11 skin riding over it.

The report on this development indicates that Xiaomi will use the occasion on November 5 to launch the Mi TV5 and a new smartwatch that will run on the Wear OS platform. No further details of these two products are made available as of now.
