Most Android tablets from various manufacturers are either budget or mid-range models. Samsung is the only manufacturer to offer flagship devices and competing with iPads from Apple. A new Geekbench listing provided details of an upcoming G Pad tablet from LG with model number LGE LM-T600 and will likely be called LG G Pad 5.
The Geekbench listing also made a mention that the tablet will feature 3GB RAM and a quad-core processor that clocks at 2.19GHz. It also specified that the device will have Android 9 (Android Pie) operating system. The tablet had a score of 347 in single-core tests and 909 in multi-core tests. The scores are almost at par with other smartphones powered with a Snapdragon 821 processor.
Features and Specifications of the LG G Pad 5
A tweet by MishaalRahman, editor-in-chief of XDA Developers, mentions that LG was working on a new G Pad tablet. He said that the gadget had the model name TF10 and was running on Android 9 Pie.
LG may be working on a new G Pad tablet that runs Android 9 Pie. Model name TF10. I see a tag for South Korea, but that's it so far. Don't know what SoC it'll have since there's no matching CAF tag.

Rahman later went on to add that Google had added the device to its list of Google Play supported devices, which allows a device to access all the features of Google Play Store. The tablet also got the Android Enterprise Recommended certification. All these indicate that the device talked about then was actually the LG G Pad 5. The details specified in these two listings indicate that the gadget did not have any noteworthy feature or specification that was worth talking about.
If these listings can be believed, the tablet is said to come with a 10.1-inch display with 1920 x 1200 screen resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. The device will offer provision for fingerprint hardware and LTE. However, there is going to be no facility for NFC payment. The gadget will incorporate a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset. It may be recalled that the tablet was noticed earlier on LG’s internal services with this three-year-old Snapdragon processor and clocking frequency.
According to the earlier leaks, one version of the tablet will definitely house 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. There was a mention of the possibility of other variants that were not listed. However, the most recent Geekbench listing does not say anything about the 4GB RAM option whereas it confirms that there will be a 3GB RAM variant. The device operates on the Android 9 Pie operating system and is topped up with UX customizations from the manufacturer.
The earlier listing also included a render of the device with only the front view being showcased. According to this, the tablet will have rounded edges but not the screen. It will come with large bezels and just one front-facing camera. The render showed the gadget in black color.
What is LG Trying to Achieve?
It is still not clear what LG is trying to achieve with a tablet that will have modest specifications compared to devices with better specifications from Apple and Samsung. While the hardware is nowhere at par near that of the Galaxy Tab S4 released by Samsung last year, it might be able to compete with the manufacturer’s Galaxy Tab S5e. There are chances for the launch to take place in a few months. If this happens during the holiday season, the tablet may be able to make its imprint in the market.
