LeEco (formerly LeTV) is one of the largest media companies in China, owning several online content platforms and the manufacturer of smart gadgets with applications in the most diverse fields. Recently entered the smartphone market, LeEco managed to impress through several high-end models o phones, with a strong design and offered at very attractive prices.
Compared to LeTV 1S, LeEco 2 trades the old octa-core Helio X 10 chipset for a deca-core one, i.e. MediaTek Helio X25.
Like its predecessor, the new Le 2 comes equipped with a 1080p screen of 5.5″, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory, but upgraded to Android version 6.0 Marshmallow. The MediaTek Helio X25 chipset has 10 cores consisting of a dual-core module based on a high-performance Cortex-A72 cores, a quad-core module based on Cortex-A53 cores and another quad-core module based on Cortex A-53 cores, but with lower operating frequencies and more economical. A Mali GPU from the T880 series, provides 3D acceleration capabilities. It is almost identical with the Exynos 8870 found on the Galaxy S7 phones.
LeEco 2 offers a 16 MP camera that can shoot in 4K and a front 8 MP camera that can shoot in 1080p. The phone supports dual SIM and 4G connectivity to access the internet, and a USB Type-C port for fast battery charging.
Following the official launch scheduled for April 20, LeEco 2 is expected to make its appearance on the Asian stores shelves a month later. Currently, no information is available concerning the availability of the new smartphone sales in international markets.
