Oppo Realme 1 is programmed to be launched on the 15th of May during an event in Gurugram. However, before the company even had the chance of making an official statement about the phone some leaks surfaced online which left almost nothing to the imagination. Today we will be talking about these recent leaks since they showcase almost everything phone related. It is highly unlikely that Oppo managed to keep safe a feature that is going to take fans by surprise.
Face the competition
Oppo Realme 1 will be a mid-range phone which means that it will be pit against other popular mid-range phones such as the Nokia 7 Plus, Moto X4 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, just to name a few of them. After the launch event will happen on the 15th of May the phone will only be available on Amazon India.
Oppo Realme 1 Display
A Twitter account has shared some leaked information about the phone. Before we start to get into what this person has said we would like to mention that while these specs do seem plausible, they are in no way confirmed so they might be fake. We hope that they are indeed a reflection of reality since they sound very promising for a mid-range phone.
Starting with the display of the phone, Oppo Realme 1 is going to come with a gigantic 6.1-inch full HD+ LCD. The aspect ratio is going to be 18:9 and the screen will have 403 PPI (PPI means pixels per inch). On the rear end of the phone, we are going to see a very aesthetically pleasing back case, made from a glossy tessellated polygons design.
From the pictures we have seen of the back end of the phone the case will almost give the illusion of a diamond effect. Also, from the pictures that we got to look at we can clearly say that Oppo Realme 1 looks like a moderately revamped version of the Oppo A3 with a couple of added touches that make the phone look more refined. Pretty classy, right? We are not angry with the design change at all.
We were wowed by the back end diamond-like design, and we hope that you were too since that is something that you do not get to see every day.
Oppo Realme 1 Camera details
Being a mid-range phone, we do not expect the camera setup to completely wow us. However, that does not mean that Oppo did not put some work into creating it. This is why we will be getting a 13MP snapper with LED flash on the rear end, paired with a Phase Detection Auto Focus. On the front end, the camera will be an 8MP one which will also include a facial recognition feature. Now, we do not yet know if this facial recognition will be able to work as well as Apple’s FaceID, which can recognize faces even in a dimly lit setup.
One feature that did catch our eye was the ‘depth effect’ which is supposed to allow users to blur the background of a photo and focus only on the main subject. This will create those professional looking photos that people always love to see.
All in all, the camera setup is perfect for the average consumer that wants a phone with more than decent features for a moderate price. We even believe that if you get creative with the cameras, then you may take mesmerizing photos, meaning that you do not necessarily need dual, high tech cameras to capture a beautiful sight.
Processor, RAM, internal storage and Hybrid SIM tray
Under the hood of the phone, we will be getting the MediaTek Helio P69 (MT6771) processor chip. We will also get 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Now, if you feel that 128GB is not enough for you and that you need more space, then you have the option to add a SIM card to get more space. However, there is a small catch.
Oppo Realme 1 is going to come with that is known in the industry as a hybrid SIM tray. This means that you automatically get one SIM card slot and that the second slot can be used either for a second SIM card or a MicroSD one. The choice is yours, meaning that you can tailor this phone to fit your needs in the manner that you see fit.

OS and Battery
Oppo Realme 1 is going to be released with Android 8.1 Oreo straight out of the box. This means that in the near future users may even get the upgrade to Android P. Android P is already said to come to a small number of phones, but we may see Realme 1 also get on the list of phones to get Android P. Meanwhile, Android 8.1 Oreo still has a number of interesting features that will surely make the users experience while using the phone easier and better at the same time. Battery wise, the phone is going to come with a 3,410mAh one, ensuring a full day of usage with just one charge.
From what we have seen so far, a large number of phones have started to come with an included fingerprint sensor. Some companies (we are thinking of Samsung here) are even working on making the fingerprint sensor part of the screen of the phone. Other phones have the fingerprint sensor on the rear end of the phone. However, it seems that Oppo Realme 1 will not make the list of phones with a fingerprint sensor.
