Samsung has finally rolled the dice with the announcement of the latest software update in its smartwatches. The update has been introduced in the Gear S3, Galaxy Watch and the Gear Sport smartwatches. The update contains the One UI interface, initially observed in the Galaxy Watch Active. Apart from this, there is a wide spectrum of features alone with the One UI. Enhanced battery life, easy tap on daily activities and modified features in health and fitness have been added alongside.
The update is not released comprehensively and it will vary from region to region. The size of the update aggregates to a 100 MB. To get the update, the Galaxy Wearable Application must be checked.
The One UI-Simple and Colorful Update
The latest One UI update has rendered the watches more colorful and easily operable. The design of the interface has eased up the watch’s navigation and intuitive operations have decreased the watch’s face clutter.
The simple control and easy customization are possible with the lucid visual settings. Similar technology is used in the latest Samsung smartphones, the similarity exists to adhere to a better synchronization between both.
The additional settings include a flexible good night control mode; enable and disable options in the touch wake-up. It also includes the control in frequency and time of the daily briefing updates.
Optimum Utilization of the Battery Life
One of the vices of the Samsung devices is, inadequate battery life and the new update seems to provide a resolution. The applications running in the background will be automatically closed, avoiding the battery drain. With the assistance of the battery savings customization settings like brightness and screen timeout adjustments, battery life can be enhanced.
Up-gradation of Health and Fitness Features
Along with the User Interface, the health and the fitness features have undergone upgradation as well. A Daily Activities screen has been introduced allowing the user to check the daily summary of calories, workouts, and movements.
An outdoor swimming tracker is introduced, available on only the Galaxy watch. The heart rate monitor and the sleep tracker have been introduced for the Galaxy watch as well. The heart rate monitor will alert the user if the heart rate exceeds the set limit. The sleep tracker will show the average sleep of the user in comparison to the other users of a similar age structure.
Samsung has streamlined the workout tracking, making it agile and effortless on the health application as well as the widget. The data now can be synchronized unhindered via the watch to the connected phone to manifest tracking.
