Latest Instagram Update Brings Post Notifications And New Editing Tools

Instagram is one of the most popular social networks, designed for photo sharing, with millions of users worldwide. With each new update, the App is getting better. In every App, there are some new and creative features.

The latest update was released several days ago.

What’s new? The first thing you’ll notice is some fresh editing tools, Color and Fade. Both editing tools are located in the adjusted menu. According to Instagram, the Fade tool will bring the “quiet tone” to the selected image. The strength of the Fade tool can be controlled by the slider.

The other editing tool is the Color tool, with several options to choose from, such as green, cyan, pink, red, purple, orange and yellow. Once the color is selected, it will add a different shade to the highlights and shadows in a photo. Some shades are a bit stronger and more noticeable than others.

The effect of the Color editing tool will depend on the image itself. For example, purple or red will be more apparent if the image is lighter. With the Color option, you can focus on highlights (darker areas) or shadows (lighter parts) of the image. Also, this editing tool does not come with the slider.

That is not all. The latest Instagram’s update adds a cool feature “post notifications”. You can subscribe to the posts of those you follow. To subscribe to the posts of the users you want, you’ll need to view their profile, and in the upper right corner, you should tap on three dots, and choose the option “turn on post notifications”. Each time the particular user shares a new photo, you will get a notification.

New editing tools are quite attractive, that’s for sure. Following your favorite Instagram users, friends or celebrities is a lot simpler now, with the push notifications you’ll get when you subscribe. The update is available for both, Android and iOS users.
