A smartphone is arguably the most important device for any user. This is because you always have it with you and it managed to replace even the most basic objects like clocks.

And when it comes to smartphones, Apple is one of most appreciates companies. And there’s a reason why. The tech giant constantly improves its products and they released enhanced models every year. However, this may be one of its weak points as well. Many users complained about its obsolescence and they are not happy that Apple produces smartphones with a short life span that force you to buy the new models. An experiment tried to discover if this is true and it really is impossible to live with an outdated Apple model.

Using the original iPhone in 2017

One of the first things that you notice at an old iPhone is the lack of an App Store. This means that the original Apple smartphone can’t be used to install any third-party apps. So you are not able to access social media or any applications needed for work or school, making the original iPhone almost useless in 2017.

The handset was released back in 2007 when 3G Internet connection wasn’t yet adopted and users had to deal with the 2G. This caused various bugs and lags and most modern websites were too much for the old model. Even using the map lead to numerous errors.

Conclusions

As it turns out, it is almost impossible to use an old iPhone model in 2017, unless you are a person who only uses the phone for messages and phone calls. Sadly, if you need more than that, you will have to accept the fact that you have to keep up with Apple.
