After an actual picture in which the two new devices can be observed was released last week, new rumors about the iPhone XS have emerged.
One highlight is the fact that at some point Apple considered ‘’iPhone Xs Max’’ as the name for the 6,5-inch edition, and several reliable sources have confirmed the information.
It has been previously confirmed that the handhelds will use OLED technology for the display, they will be available in two sizes and a new stylish gold finish for the sides will also be included. Since the Apple 6 launched, two versions of the iPhone were launched every year, with ‘’Plus’’ being the favorite label. If the rumors are true, the cycle will end as the new devices will be named iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. A source reported earlier this year that Apple has considered dropping the Plus tag before.
iPhone Xs Screen Size
The iPhone Xs will come in a more modest 5.8-inch screen size and it will be the iPhone to offer a gold color option. Although it was considered for the iPhone X according to leaked FCC data, it was never released commercially
Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has recently presented his take on the new line of iPhones. The 6.1-inch budget iPhone is expected to offer a taste of the Apple experience for a smaller price and it may ship later than the two new flagships, in order to maximize orders from early buyers. It may release in October, but it remains to be seen.
An outstanding feature that is coming for the first time to the iPhone series is the addition of a dual-SIM option, which is sadly dependent on the region where to launches. The 5.8’’ model will offer an eSim and a traditional SIM.
When it comes to technical differences, they are quite slim between the two flagship models. The three devices will sport a new A12 processor, said to offer improved processing power while minimizing battery drain. The LCD model will enjoy 3GB of RAM, which is still plenty for now, unless you want to play PUBG Mobile on maximum settings. A single 12MP camera is available for the LCD model, with an improved Dual 12MP sensor on the other devices, with new functions for the camera being added in iOS 12.
When it comes to battery performance the 6.5’’ will have the biggest battery, with a 3,300-3,400 capacity which is said to provide plenty of power for both daily use and intensive gaming on the go. The other devices will share a 2,700 mAh.
The premium model will come in three color schemes available, with the LCD model receiving two extra choices but sacrificing the stainless steel frame for classic aluminum.
Software side, iOS 12 will introduce a host of new features. You will now be able to use FaceTime up to 32 persons at the same time thanks to the new group feature. Bring a bit of fun to that boring office discussion with some stickers and Memojis.
Siri will now be able to offer proactive suggestions. If you are late, it will automatically suggest that you should make a call in order to prevent complications. Siri shortcuts will be available for other apps and they will be influenced by your location and current activity.
In case that something goes wrong, location data will be sent to emergency services via a secure channel in order to facilitate a faster response.
Listed above are selected highlights, with more features coming in the final release.
Apple Pencil support, demanded since it was first announced, will remain absent this year as Apple may be working on adapting the pencil for the iPhones.
What is real and what is not remains to be seen when the phones will be unveiled in September.
