Based on what CNET said, when the new iOS update, version 12.1, will be released by Apple it will also come with something that will solve the charging problem experienced before. The problem consists of the iPhone not charging when a lightning cable is plugged into it, and the screen is off.
As a semi-permanent solution, the screen of the iPhone XS Max or iPhone XS needs to be turned on, or it should be charged by a wireless pad.
Numerous iPhone users are experiencing this problem at the moment, and they are all talking about it on Twitter, Apple Support forums, and Reddit trying to find together a solution. Some even say that even though it does not say the phone is charging, battery adds up.
What we know is that this problem needs a professional fixing. CNET suggests that that fixing will come along with the iOS 12.1 beta and after this upgrade, the issue will disappear.
iPhone XS Charging Problem
For those who haven’t signed on to Apple’s beta program, there are some solutions. For one, you can unplug the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max and plug it back in. Most users have said that that simple step addresses it. You can also try to move it to a wireless charger since the bug appears to be related to the Lightning port and not charging in general.
If you are not signed in the beta program from Apple than, in order to solve this issue yourself, you can unplug your iPhone and plug it back in. Users say that this is one of the simplest methods along with the usage of a wireless charger. The problem seems to not be with the phone but the Lightning port.
Maybe you should quickly sign in that program.
