The upcoming entry-level smartphone from Apple, iPhone 9, will have an LCD screen and got some case renders presented yesterday by GizmoChina. Along with the LCD screen phone, another two models will be introduced which feature OLED screen. One of them is going to be better than iPhone X and outshine it, and the other one will be the biggest iPhone ever launched. The rumor also said that it might be called iPhone X Plus.
A China-based case manufacturing company, Sanfeng, had already started working on the case mold for the upcoming iPhone’s protective cases. They have also provided GizmoCina with the Plus model’s case molds. The case maker used the moniker iPhone 9 Plus instead of iPhone X Plus.
The case renders have also given a clue that iPhone 9 Plus will have a similar design to the iPhone X. The edge-to-edge screen of the iPhone will feature a notch, and it occupies most of the phone’s front side. Inside the respective notch, there will be the 3D facial recognition sensors. It is also rumored about the iPhone 9 Plus’s massive 6.5 inches OLED display and its 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7mm body.
No different from the iPhone X, iPhone 9 Plus’ power key will be placed on the right edge of the phone while on the left edge the user will find the volume controller and silent/ring switch. Unfortunately, these renders do not show a view of the iPhone 9 Plus’ bottom edge, but it is said that a Lightning connector might be located between the two speaker grills.
The new Plus model coming this year, as said by rumors, will house a triple camera setup. But Apple might put the vertical dual camera setup like iPhone X as seen from the case renders revealed of the device.
Regarding the specs of the iPhone 9 Plus, we got no details from the case manufacturer. However, the large-sized iPhone will be introduced with a battery of approximately 3,000mAh capacity as read from recent reports and it is a possibility to be fueled by the Apple A12 SoC. iPhone x revealed last year had a starting price of Since the iPhone X $999, so the iPhone 9 Plus might even add a portion to its price.
Because the production of case molds was already initiated by the case make, iPhone’s cases will be on stock in August, close to Apple’s release moth of the iPhones, September.
