After Apple made its announcements on the 5th of June 2017 at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California, we all knew we were in a for a treat this year. As you may well be aware of by now, the year 2017 marks the ten year anniversary of the iPhone, Apple’s most popular product and one of the most iconic smartphones ever made. Needless to say, we’re all expecting an anniversary to remember. After all, the iPhone is the most famous smartphone in the world, so you’d expect its tenth birthday to be a true banger.
Well, although there are no official announcements, everyone expects Apple to release the anniversary iPhone plus two other ones in September. So, the three phones coming this September are:
- iPhone 8;
- iPhone 7s;
- iPhone 7s Plus.
Needless to say, the iPhone 8 is the anniversary edition we’ve been going on about for the majority of this article, while the rest are just extra additions to the iPhone 7 line. The iPhone 8 was also rumored to be called iPhone X or iPhone Anniversary Edition, but here’s to hoping they stick with iPhone 8.
The iPhone 8 will have an OLED display, while the iPhone 7s and the 7s Plus will stick to the old and trustworthy LCD display that all other iPhones have been sporting for a while now. But the rumors don’t stop here. The three phones are expected to have already entered production, but the iPhone 8 might face a shortage due to high demand upon its release in September. This has been a rumor that many have circulated in the last few months, so it’s not so surprising to hear.
