Another common problem that has been plaguing some iPhone 5s users is that the microphone is that the microphone is not recording their voice properly and they are having problems during calls too. While there are some solutions that may help you solve the problem, the foremost thing to do is to check if the protective film from the screen has been removed. There is a chance that the microphone interference is because of this film.
Solution 1: Check Permission for specific Apps
If the microphone works normally for everything else but the problem comes up when you are using a specific app then you must check for the permissions of the app and see if the app has permission to use the microphone.
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Privacy
- Tap on Microphone to check for permissions
Solution 2: Turn off noise cancellation
- From the Settings menu of the phone, tap on General
- Head into Accessibility
- Switch off noise cancellation
Check if it helps in fixing the problem.
Solution 3: Remove the case
Some users who were facing the problem realized that it was not the phone but the case that interfered with the microphone. If you are using a case or cover on your phone then take it off and the problem may be solved.
