The two countries with the highest and second-highest population in the world have welcomed the iPhone 11 with open arms. The Indian sales hold great importance for every smartphone producing company as the country has the third-largest market for smartphones globally. This is after years that people had again expressed keen interest in an Apple phone.
It was during 2014 and 2015 when Apple had launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 series that the crowd was so excited in India. Consumers lined up outside official reseller stores from the afternoon to get their hands on the revolutionary smartphone.
Within three days of the opening of pre-booking, Amazon and Flipkart were both out of stock of iPhone 11 devices. Amazon, Flipkart, as well as Ingram Micro are offering cashback offers on multiple iPhone devices. This has also contributed to the rise in sales. As of 2019, iPhone still does not have a retail store in India and yet manages to woo its consumers through various resellers and online stores.
Associate Director of Mobile Devices and Ecosystems at Counterpoint Research, Tarun Pathak, reportedly said to IANS, “Looks like Apple iPhone 11 pricing strategy is going down well for the consumers. Additionally, the offers on top of it from the financial/retail partners make it a great buy for users looking to upgrade.” This is a strategy that is not just working for India but apparently also for China. China too saw a booming response in the iPhone 11 sales with 300 percent up sales as compared to 2018.
The festival season has just begun in India, with Diwali. Pathak believes that iPhone may hit record sales in India. He was noted saying, “We won’t be surprised if Apple hit its record festive season sales in India driven by iPhone 11 and XR.”
The upgraded version was the perfect option for people to give up on their old iPhone models. The iPhone 11 is offering great features at adequate pricing, making it the smartphone the new generation desires to own. Let’s see what does the final quarter of 2019 has in store for the phone that offers, ‘Just the right amount of everything.’
