It seems that lately Apple can’t stop surprising us with their over the top technology and hardware. Fans were already excited with the new details of iPhone X and now the Apple TV 4K news is on everyone’s lips.

Apple TV 4K as powerful as iPad Pro

It appears that the newest steaming video box, Apple TV 4K will be powered by the same CPU as the most recent iPad Pro: the three-core A10X Fusion CPU and it will also contain 3GB RAM. This news was shared by developer Steve Stroughton-Smith and the details he shared are from a leaked version of the iOS 11 GM release.

Why does Apple TV 4K need such power?

With the new CPU, Apple TV will be able to play 4K video and handle resolutions up t0 60 frames per second. This information seems to be true since the next iPhone line is expected to record 4K/60FPS. Nowadays, the 4K content is 24 FPS for film and 30 FPS for TV. The higher frame rate will become even more important in the future and it is very useful especially to documentary lovers. Nature documentaries are particularly enjoyable in this format.

Apple TV 4k will also support HDR10 and Dolby Vision as suggested by Stroughton-Smith. This is not surprising considering the top-notch technologies used by the Cupertino-based company. Thanks to the new 4K content, HDR will have a bigger visual impact.

Many believe that Apple will release this set-top box tomorrow during the iPhone event. Others are under the impression that the corporation will want to dedicate an entire event to the new Apple TV 4K.

One thing is for sure: Apple never seizes to amaze us with its new technologies and hardware.
