Recently released high-definition renders made by an Apple enthusiast site have revealed what seems to be an impressively redesigned iPad Pro, believed to be announced later this month.
The renders are an improved version of CAD schematics that were previously released, showing a daring iPad with a fresh new look. A modern, angular design that features chamfered edges has replaced the well-known rounded chassis that is as iconic as the tablet itself.
True to the CAD images, the supposed 11-inch iPad Pro was rendered with two sets of speakers arranged around the lightning port, which keeps its middle passion at the bottom of the iDevice. In a mirror design, the top of the iPad will feature two microphone ports, located just above the integrated TrueDepth Camera array.
Buttons will keep their previous positions, with the expectation of the home button, which was replaced with a haptic feedback one, like the one present on the iPhone X. While the headphone jack seems to remain, some consider that it is time to abandon it in favor of wireless headphone support.
A Smart Connector that has appeared on the back of the tablet, above the Lighting Connector started a large debate, with some seeing is as a compromise for the lack of Face ID, which was thought to nit be supported in landscape mode under iOS 12. Recent code discovered in beta versions of iOS 12 seem to contradict this point of view, as it seems that Face ID will be usable in both landscape and portrait mode under the new version of the OS, which makes the new iPad a suitable candidate for Apples facial recognition protocol.
Since the origins of the CAD and renders are not known, the reliability factor is not very high, since there is no official logo or related information.

New iPad models are rumored to be displayed at the 12th September launch event, where the new iPhone models will be launched. With more than fifteen months from the last iPad Pro update, but information from the iOS 12 update hints that interface changes inspired by the iPhone X may come to the tablet. It is also believed that Apple will ditch the home button for at least some iPad models, favoring instead the same gestures mechanic featured on the X.
The lack of notch would mean that Apple is likely to insert the Face ID camera at the top of the device, which was predicted by Bloomberg sources back in 2017. If the TrueDepth camera will make an appearance, support for Animoji will also be offered.
The removal of the home button will diminish de bezels and increase the screen size of the devices. Some sources argue that a 12.9 inch will also appear but it remains to be seen if it fact or fiction.
With Samsung offering a Super AMOLED display on the Tab 4, it remains to be seen if a new variation of the Retina display will keep up the progress. At one time, it was considered that Apple will go for OLED, but it seems that manufacturers cannot keep up with the demand just yet.
When it comes to inside tech, iPads sport a modified version of the processor featured on the previous iPhone incarnation. Since iPhone 8 and X come with the A11 Bionic chip, an upgraded version is expected, even though the standard version already offers impressive speeds.
A patent featuring dual display was received by Apple in February 2018, but it would make more sense as a touch keyboard for a future generation of MacBooks.
It remains to be seen how much is real, and how much is smoke but the new iPad line will surely make an impression when it is finally announced.
