Many people have been asking themselves which is the better version between the two: is it the new 2017 iPad or the 9.7 inches version of the iPad Pro? At a first glance, the iPad Pro is lighter, faster and also thinner, plus it is packed with great features. However, the issue here that might make you undecided is the price. While the new iPad version costs starting with $329, the iPad Pro price starts at $599. But why is it so much more expensive?
One of the points that draw lots of customers is the support for the special Pro accessories. Namely, these refer to the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. The pencil is in fact a combination between a stylus and a drawing tool and it costs $99, while the keyboard is both a keyboard and a cover and it starts off at $149.
Apple markets the standard iPad as having a bright display, which is true. However, iPad Pro tops it up by bringing in the game a laminated and anti-reflective display. This means that you can use it at a better quality in direct sunlight. Moreover, it has a True-Tone tech that matches the light in a room in order to keep accurate colors.
The iPad relies on the old version of Apple processors, namely the A9. Meanwhile, the iPad Pro, even though it’s almost one year old now, it is faster with the A9X CPU.
Size and Weight
Even though the iPad is the newer one among the two, the iPad Pro is thinner and lighter. It weighs 0.96 pounds and it measures 0.24 inches, while the iPad measures 0.29 inches and weighs 1.03 pounds. However, you can’t really say that the iPad is heavy and thick, so it’s a good option too.
